00 About us

The way we learn is changing.
We build what comes next.

STARK Learning is an industrial training agency from Groningen. We build immersive learning experiences for energy, chemical and infrastructure sectors, from VR simulation to microlearning, delivered in weeks not months.

01 What we do

We build training for the people who construct, operate and maintain critical infrastructure.

Not the people sitting behind a desk. The operator starting up a compressor station at minus five degrees. The technician inspecting a wind turbine at 80 metres height. The contractor excavating a gas pipeline while traffic keeps moving.

Those people don't learn from presentations and PDF procedures. They learn by doing, but in their work you can't always practise. That's why we build the environment where you can.

VR & XR Simulations

Scenarios you cannot practise live, possible in a headset.

Knowledge Capture

Tacit knowledge from senior staff captured before it's too late.

3D Work Instructions

Visual step-by-step instructions at the workplace itself.

Site Induction

Contractor onboarding that is scalable and demonstrably effective.

Multilingual Training

One standard, multiple languages, no compromise on quality.

Process Safety

From HAZOP report to understanding that changes behaviour.

02 What we believe

Training works when it is specific.

An operator at a compressor station in Groningen needs different training than a technician on an offshore wind farm. Generic content produces generic results. We always build from the real installation, the real risks and the real people.

Behaviour matters, not completion.

A green tick says nothing. What matters is whether someone makes the right decision under stress. Our training is built to practise and measure that behaviour, not to check a box.

Technical knowledge is the foundation of safety.

Safety incidents rarely arise from unwillingness. They arise from misunderstanding. When people truly understand what is happening in an installation, their behaviour changes. That understanding is what we build.

03 Our approach

The STARK 4D Method™

Every engagement follows the same trajectory. No surprises halfway through, just a solution that fits your installation, your people and your timeline.

01 Discover

We start with your problem, not our solution.

What's really going on? What does success look like? We map what exists, what's missing, and what your people actually need. No assumptions, no templates. Just honest scoping and concrete examples of what's possible.

02 Design

We translate your challenge into a clear plan.

Approach, format, timeline, all worked out with your team before we build anything. You know exactly what you're getting. No surprises halfway through.

03 Develop

We build it, and test it with your people.

Whether it's a VR simulation, an interactive module or a full blended programme: your subject matter experts are part of the build. That's how we make it accurate and relevant to the work floor.

04 Deploy

Going live is the start, not the finish.

We support rollout, adoption and embedding. We track whether the training works and adjust where needed. Because training that's not used has no value.

04 The team

Technologists, designers and domain specialists.

Not a large agency. A team that knows what a P&ID diagram looks like and understands why a shutdown window leaves no room for mediocre training.

N

Niels

Learning expert

Defines what someone must be able to do afterwards and which format fits. Works out the didactic structure, the scenarios and the assessment.

Y

Yasen

3D artist

Rebuilds the installations, components and environments people train in. From technical drawing to a model that is recognisable to the people who work there.

N

Nikolay

Software engineer

Builds the simulations, apps and integrations with learning platforms. Makes sure material works offline and results land back in the LMS.

D

Daniel

Designer

Designs how the material looks and how it is operated, including with work gloves on, on a small screen and in poor light.
